This product is shelf stable, and a good option for lower shipping costs. You may dispense these as individual capsules, or as a full bottle. Your client will be able to take these home without preparing a cooler with ice for the journey home.
It is often suggested because heartworm preventatives can reduce microbial diversity in the gut. Giving this supplement after administering a heartworm preventative may help restore some of the beneficial species that were affected.
If possible, consider not using heartworm preventatives year-round—especially if you live in a climate where mosquito activity drops significantly in the winter.
This is particularly important for dogs with sensitive or easily disrupted gastrointestinal systems. By offering support after introducing something that can upset their gut balance, you're helping maintain their overall health.
How to Use
- Timing: Administer 36 hours after your pet receives a heartworm preventative dose.
- Stomach status: Give on an empty stomach with just a small amount of food. You may also add colostrum and ION Gut Support if desired.
- Frequency: Give at least once daily, preferably for 3 consecutive days for optimal support.
- Dosage: Give 1 capsule per 20–40 lbs of body weight.
These are best to be given on an empty stomach, or with minimal food, so that it breaks down in the stomach.
